Lawrence C. GRAHAM, 59, died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon while in the company of two friends in the northern part of the county. He had served as chief of police of Greencastle and was in his second term as sheriff.

Morton (Clinton Township), Farmer, Section 1; was born March 22, 1843, in this township; son of James I. Nelson, born on the 8th of February 1796 in Montgomery County, Ky., and Polly Yates-Nelson, born in Kentucky, May 1, 1803; they settled in this county in 1829. Has twice been married; October 10, 1865 and October 10, 1876 - three children - Ella A., James I., and Omer J. (deceased). Mr. Nelson is twelfth of a family of fourteen children, all living but one. He owns 100 acres of fine land; engaged, principally, in raising stock; is enterprising in business and progressive in thought; has been for twenty years a consistent member of the M. E. Church.
